Happy New Year everyone,

Hopefully you all had a nice holiday season and a fantastic new years,
Mine was great, but getting back to work and exercise routines was (and still is..) not easy, but im trying and I'll get back to it all soon,

I guess this is what this blog is about,
Getting back to stuff, staying with it and then from there - full steam ahead i guess!

I never really posted much on here but that is not because I have not been drawing,
I have been solidly life drawing for the last few years since I wrote my last entry in to this journal,
I have a very solid portfolio of work and when I get around to it I will once again be sharing highlights from this with you through this profile,
so look out for that and some other the other creative projects I would like to get in to - which I will mention in brief towards the end of this post.

I have been semi productive the last few years,
Learning, but never exploring for myself and when I develope the skills, not properly following up,
I need to work on this big time as the skills I have (and still am) picking up are what I hope to pay my bills over the next few years
Forgeting all the shit I learnt would suck...

At the moment I have learnt some adobe applications and still have a few classes left, I also hope to learn a few more over the next couple of years and if I'm not too last,
Get back in to 3d stuff as well, I guess you could say I've had a cup of coffee with 3d modelling and will try to get back to this as well some how...

I will have my fingers in many pies, biting off more than I can chew but eating it any way...

I guess I have goals for twenty15,

They are as follows;

+Spend more time with my girlfriend <3
 (because we dont see nearly as much of each other as we would like...)

+Get back to a level of fitness that I am happy with
 (however I do it does not matter to me!)

+Draw and paint way more for myself

+Try out some cosplay ideas and bodypainting stuff
 I will post some of that here (I may be shirtless though and wearing odd and shiny clothing - shadow run returns is an idea I am trying to work on...)

+Restart my gameblog
 I'll write about this below...

+Get better at my job...
 I'm not too bad but I can always be better

+Get my own place
 
+Stop buying media...
 (I think I may have a problem...) XD

I think thats about all my goals...
But the game blog,

I used to blog about this sort of thing, with about 5 hits each post (thanks to anyone who looked at it and struggled to get through the huge walls of text!),
This is something that I want to code from the ground up, giving me a reason (a much needed reason!!!) to work on my HTML skills and CSS skills,
I have a basic understanding of these languages and this whole project will also tie in my newly aqquired skillings in Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator,
Having to draw up art assets for it to break up the text will give me a reason to also draw and paint, maybe sculpt and even cosplay (also toying around with a Hulkster cosplay... Brother!)

If this goes as I am thinking of it,
I will have to play more then I have been and play a more varied selection of games as well,
The same goes for the movies that I am watching, recently I have been on a steady diet of action movies with a sprinkle of things like grand budapest hotel, the lives of others and the book thief to name a few,
But I never review the games - I just write about my experience with them, playing and watching and how I consumed the media itself...

And as the blog grows, so will my skills and understanding of certain practices!

The only probem is I have so many games and dvds,
And I hope that people will find my struggles with this huge collection entertaining,
I suffer, you smile simple as...

I will be playing games on as many formats as possible, trying to get a bank of high scores up for people to beat,
Trying to finish games that are incomplete (Final Fantasy 8, 13, Syndicate (xbox360), Prey (xbox360), Enchanted Arms (xbox 360), Split Second (PS3), Blood Dragon (PS3)
 and Okami HD (PS3) are but a few that still linger... I will do silly things like try to increase my gamer score by silly amounts and also my psn trophies as well...

And if I can get this off the ground then maybe even a podcast as well - I have spoken to someone about this and this could be a runner (as sales people say sometimes...)

Basically,
I need to explore and create, write and build for myself again,
Before it gets too late and I'm tied down with family and or my body becomes too tired and old to get the job done...

I need to work on fully maximising my free time and by giving up bad habits and laziness,
Use it more productivly...

Kind of like my own Renaissance i guess

Its time to start working,

Its going to be tough... But if I get half of it done I will be happy!

2014 was at times productve in different ways but over all a great year,
I lost the full use of my legs for about a month, that was the biggest low-light of it,

But spending as much time with my girlfriend as we could,
Those were by far the best bits, last but not at all least, hanging out with friends as well... good times!

2014 - a busy but good year!
2015 - hopefully better and more productive times... we'll see..!

Hiya!

just checking in with y'all! ^^

so I have some work done and i just have to photograph it and post it, mostly life drawings and some prints as well (linocut and monoprint), also, I have booked a place for a drawing class this Saturday as well - it will be a mix of drawing and print making with a nude model present so I am looking forward to this as well...

I have not been able to bring myself around to doing any drawing or painting outside of class yet, instead letting my brain mostly melt after work and just aimlessly surfing the web, the nights where I am showing signs of life, I am taking my brain with a pc game called super meat boy - which I am absolultly fooking loving! ^^ im also playing enslved on xbox 360 and a bit of greed corp on steam as well - if there are any gamers out there let me know and we can maybe get something going, i love beat em ups and have warmed up to arcade racers as well

Other than that not much to report, going to post a new gameblog on my blogger account - its quite a big one and I have more to type up for the next one as well...

So...

It's been almost 4 years to the day since I posted a blog (or any artwork), to be honest I was, for a very long time, not doing anything other than playing video games and watching movies and tv box sets, but recently I have returned to my life drawing classes and will try to attend these regular again and post some stuff from that up here.

Also, recently I have briefly dabbled in mono printing, I like this - the results you get from it are quite nice and it was a very different approach to the way I normally work with a live model present.

About a year and a half ago I set up a video game blog, this came about because I was listening to a lot of video game podcasts and because I had enjoyed in the past writing about video games, nobody really reads it yet and to be honest - its not the most compelling read but its good practice for me, I have started to take and interest in journalism and might pursue this, we'll see. To tie in with the blog I have been studying web design at night time once a week, this is to my my online presence look better - especially my blog! I guess the next step is to look in to a creative writing class...

so here we go...
just an update on everything!

last sunday i particpated in a 9 hour lifedrawing marathon and pumped out so much work, it was so good and at the end i was on such a rush that i could have done it all over again! life drawing kicks ass!

what was so special about this class though was that all particpants we not charged for it, instead they had to select pieces that the generated during the day and sumbit them for a public exhibition - i picked out 9 (me thinks) and they all got displayed, the space was limited but it was set up quite well and everyone got their opieces submitted! it was a nice feeling to see my work up in a public space and it was also great to see everyone elses aswell - we are encouraged in the class to look at each other's art but you don't always get the chance... so we were able to discuss different styles and chat about the class in general - apparently my work got an alright response from the ppl who attended!

also, i have been trying to experiment with different mediums aswell, that was one of the main things i wanted to do during the day! so i didnt use charcoal once during the day (i hate charcoal so much!), so instead i was using oil pastels, biro, acrylic paint, ink (i love ink!) and various tools to apply or remove the media, also, i brought a selection of different papers to work on aswell - i guess i pretty much brought everything in my arsenal!

im also doing a short water colour work shop to learn the basics of the medium... stuff that i wanted to know but wasnt bothered to learn out of a book... i really like the medium and the stuff i learn can be directly applied to my ink life drawings aswell, im also starting to apply washes to my gesture studies to indicate tone and/or shadow...

i have some creative ideas for submissions on here that are not life drawing related aswell, but i need to get materials first so it will be a while with them... so i may be asking you guys for somee help and also the ppl that i watch aswell...

ill be posting a short journal - not too long just about the marathon i did so if you read these things look out for that!
